Clinic Prof. Schedel
Business to Consumer (B2C)
The Clinic Prof. Schedelis a health care institution that engages in the medical and physical rehabilitation of internistic-oncological disorders.
Since its foundation in 1960, the clinic imposes high treatment and quality standards upon itself and tries to meet its own requirements by perpetually monitoring and rigorous customer/ patient orientation. At the same time there are economic goals to be met in order to be able to keep on investing in quality and to accommodate social responsibility.
With this high measure of professionalism and holism in the healing arts, the Clinic Prof. Schedel is on of the most renowned rehabilitation clinics in Bavaria.
As a private company, the clinic employs a staff of 130 doctors, therapists and further medical and non-medical personnel. With this work force, about 2,500 rehabilitantsper year with various oncological indications can be treated with medical postoperative care as well as a range of forms of therapy.
Problem statement and objectives
As application and validation field for the project partnership, we chose the rehabilitation of prostate patients as this disorder affects about a third of the rehabilitants.
Therapy success for this disorder is not always achievable and involves therapeutic measures for several months that are pervaded cyclically (about one time a year) by stationary rehabilitation in clinics. As the direct contact between therapists and rehabilitants is bound to date and location of the hospitalization, the prostate rehabilitants can only rely on the therapist’s personal care and expertise in the execution of therapeutic exercises for a relatively brief timespan.
Up to now, patients are administered several single and group sessions with direct assistance during their hospitalization in order to get acquainted with motoric exercises that strengthen the pelvic floor.
The purpose of the SIVA Suite in this context is to extend the range of service offered by the Clinic Prof. Schedel with a hypervideo application. By audio-visual preparation of selected exercises, the individual patient will be enabled to benefit in exercise execution from the expertise of the Clinic Prof. Schedel during and beyond their hospitalization. To this end, already during our project partnership selected exercises and additional information will be assembled to hypervideos and provided to the user via the internet.
Furthermore, we will assess the potential of the SIVA Suite in imparting motoric know-how with parallel execution.

The following depicted matrix of scenarios of relevant communication and commercial relationships illustrates that we seek to analyse a B2C scenario in our Partnership with the Clinic Prof. Schedel.
Set into the described application context, the Clinic Prof. Schedel as a service provider for rehabilitants as consumers uses the SIVA Suite to extend its service repertoire by a new form of services. In concrete terms, the SIVA Suite offers the following opportunies to the operating company:
- The SIVA Suite provides a channel to share content for exercises between the clinic (“business”) and the patients (“consumers”)
- Furthermore, the very same channel also offers a bidirectional communication channel. This channel contains the formalized exchange of statistical and usage data
